New Chair of the European Contact Group

Brussels, 24 September 2026 – The European Contact Group (ECG) is pleased to announce that Bertrand Pruvost, a Global Lead Partner at KPMG France, today assumes the role of Chair. He will be supported by the new Vice-Chair, Pablo Zalba, Deloitte EMEA Public Policy leader and Managing Director of Deloitte’s EU Policy Centre.

Bertrand succeeds Isabelle Tracq-Sengeissen, EY France audit partner and former IAASB member, who has chaired the ECG since 2024. The ECG thanks Isabelle for her dedicated leadership and significant contribution to strengthening the Group’s voice and engagement in European policy discussions.

Bertrand works with some of Europe's largest industrial companies and brings extensive leadership experience across audit, assurance and corporate reporting. Alongside his responsibilities within KPMG France, he is actively involved in professional and regulatory forums in France and across Europe, providing insight into issues affecting businesses, investors and the wider economy.

The new leadership takes office as economic, technological and regulatory developments continue to reshape expectations for businesses and the profession. Drawing on knowledge from across the networks, the ECG will continue to contribute to discussions with EU policymakers and other stakeholders on issues affecting reporting, assurance, tax, technology, competitiveness and the wider business environment.

In these two years, the ECG has developed external publications (like Audit FAQs, illustrative limited assurance reports), responded to many public consultations, and contributed to various events (like the CSRD Practice Forums) which have convened diverse stakeholders and fostered meaningful dialogue.  I have great confidence in the next chapter of the ECG and its leadership.”
