ECG announces change in Chairmanship
Brussels, September 19 – The European Contact Group (ECG) is pleased to announce that, as of today, Isabelle Tracq-Sengeissen, EY’s Global Sustainability Professional Practice Director, will assume the role of Chairwoman of the ECG.
Isabelle succeeds Maurizio Donvito, EMEA Assurance Risk Management Partner at PwC, who has successfully held the position since 2021. Isabelle will be supported by Bertrand Pruvost, Partner and Head of the Department of Professional Practice at KPMG France, who will take on the newly created position of Vice-Chair. Together, Isabelle and Bertrand will work in close partnership to further advance ECG’s mission, ensuring a smooth transition and building upon the solid foundation laid by Maurizio.
Isabelle is the first Chairwoman of the ECG. She joined the audit profession in 1990 and has a strong experience of audit and assurance standard setting and in the development of related guidance for auditors and assurance practitioners. She has been technical advisor (from 2009 to 2014) and member (from 2018 to 2023) of the International Auditing and Assurance Standard Board (IAASB). Isabelle is also chair of the Auditing Standard Board of CNCC (Compagnie Nationale des Commissaires aux Comptes, the French institute of statutory auditor), member of the audit standard setting committee of H2A (Haute Autorité de l’Audit, the French audit and sustainability assurance oversight board) and member of Accountancy Europe Audit and Assurance Policy Group.
The change in chairmanship coincides with new legislative terms for the European Parliament and the European Commission. In June the ECG therefore published a manifesto for 2024–2029 outlining recommendations to reinforce the EU’s competitiveness, build well-functioning capital markets, whilst enabling trust in the twin transition and safeguarding the public interest.
